During my PhD, I will realize quantum logic gates using a charged quantum dot (QD) inside a nanophotonic waveguide. By exploiting the efficient coupling between the embedded QD spin and a photonic qubit, one can perform deterministic quantum logic between them. The deterministic nature of quantum logic gates would prove to be fundamental in scaling up quantum photonic circuits.
